Large-screen laptops · desk-based projects

Compare the large-screen workspace your buyers need.

P1’s current Core i3 reference pairs a 17.5-inch 16:10 panel with a conventional clamshell. S18D offers an 18.5-inch 16:9 reference for bulk projects. Both current references are non-touch.

Direct answer

How do P1 and S18D differ for desk work?

The current P1 Core i3 reference has a 17.5-inch 1920 × 1200 display, while S18D’s Core i3 reference has an 18.5-inch 1920 × 1080 display. P1 provides 120 more vertical pixels; S18D has the larger physical diagonal. Usable workspace also depends on display scaling and the application. Compare the final CPU, desk footprint, ports, keyboard and power package separately. A larger screen does not guarantee that an external monitor will no longer be needed.

Reference builds are starting points, not a live stock offer. CPU, RAM, storage, panel, ports and power must be confirmed for the selected version. S18D is currently bulk-only with no evaluation samples. P1 marketing also uses the 17.6-inch class; its current Core i3 technical reference specifies 17.5 inches.

Decision comparison

P1 and S18D: compare the confirmed references.

These are Core i3 references, not specifications for every P1 or S18D build. P1 also has N95 / N5095 references; S18D i7 / i9 directions require a separate board, thermal and power review. Confirm the final specification before ordering.

Before approval

Approve the full desk setup.

A useful comparison covers the screen, the workload and the purchasing route. Keep unresolved details in the project brief until the selected version is confirmed.

01
Screen layoutOpen the actual spreadsheet, dashboard or document set at the intended scaling. P1’s 1200 vertical pixels and S18D’s 1080 are different workspace baselines.
02
Placement and mobilityCheck the desk, carrying case and transport requirement against confirmed dimensions and final weight. Do not infer portability or runtime from the display diagonal.
03
Connections, cooling and powerList the monitor and USB devices. Check USB-C functions, battery version, cooling and supplied charger separately; S18D’s current custom power package remains pending.
04
Order route and serviceS18D is bulk-only. If evaluation is mandatory, ask which alternative model is available before selecting the platform. Agree quantity, documentation, local service and schedule in the quotation.

Buyer questions

Large-screen laptop procurement FAQ

Is P1 17.5 inches or 17.6 inches?

The current Core i3-10100Y technical reference specifies a 17.5-inch 1920 × 1200 non-touch display. Other P1 marketing uses the 17.6-inch class. Confirm the actual panel for the selected version rather than applying one size claim to every build.

Does P1 support touch or a 360-degree hinge?

P1 is a conventional clamshell and does not support 360-degree conversion. The current Core i3 reference is non-touch. If touch and laptop, stand, tent or tablet positions are required, compare J1 or R2.

Does an 18.5-inch screen provide more pixels than P1?

The S18D reference is 1920 × 1080, while the current P1 Core i3 reference is 1920 × 1200. P1 therefore has 120 more vertical pixels, despite the smaller physical diagonal. Display scaling and application layout determine how much content is comfortably usable.

Can we order an S18D evaluation sample?

S18D is currently available for bulk orders only, and S18D evaluation samples are not available. If a sample is essential, ask us to check an alternative model. Any alternative sample’s availability, configuration, cost and delivery are quoted separately.

Are the S18D charger and battery fixed across all builds?

No. The Core i3 order reference lists a 7.6V / 8000mAh battery, but the battery can differ between orders and versions. The current custom build’s supplied adapter, charging power, cable and destination plug remain unconfirmed and must be agreed before the bulk order.

Can we choose another processor in the same chassis?

P1 has Core i3, N95 and N5095 reference directions; S18D has Core i3, i7 and i9 directions. Availability and compatibility are evaluated separately. A change can affect the motherboard, memory, storage, cooling, ports and power, and does not imply a user-replaceable CPU or discrete graphics.

Which documentation and delivery terms apply?

Document availability depends on the exact platform, configuration and destination. Ask for the applicable model-specific documents before order confirmation; one model’s document set does not automatically cover another build. MOQ, stock or production timing and shipping are quoted for the selected build, quantity and destination.

What warranty applies to a large-screen order?

The standard ODM/OEM laptop policy is a 12-month limited warranty from shipment for confirmed manufacturing defects. Start with remote diagnosis and obtain RMA authorisation before return. Freight responsibilities, coverage and any chargeable work are confirmed before dispatch or repair.
