Start-up identity and software preparation

Laptop boot logo and system setup.

Confirm what buyers see at start-up and what the laptop is ready to run. Boot artwork, system language and software preparation each need a clear approval.

Your approval brief

Specify the first-use experience in separate steps.

A boot logo, wallpaper, system language and application image are separate deliverables. Review them on the exact hardware and firmware baseline agreed for the project.

Separate the requirements

One logo can appear in different places.

Boot logo or splash screen

This is the brand presentation requested during the device start-up sequence. Availability depends on the platform and supported firmware. We review the exact requirement before confirming whether it can be supplied, how it is validated and which quantity conditions apply.

Desktop presentation

A wallpaper or other agreed operating-system asset is a separate item from the boot logo. Share the intended image, screen format and first-use experience. The default desktop and any setup content should be approved against the configuration being shipped.

System language and applications

Display language, keyboard input, drivers and approved software have their own setup requirements. State them individually rather than asking for a generic language or software package. Availability and licensing are reviewed before quotation.

Boot artwork

Approve the asset on the chosen platform.

Send the original logo artwork, the intended background and a reference for the start-up appearance. We confirm the supported image format, dimensions and presentation for the selected model before the asset is prepared.

A firmware-level change is reviewed separately from a cover logo or printed label. Our team confirms supported options and the required validation; a request for boot branding does not imply that every BIOS function, firmware setting or hardware behaviour can be changed.

Record the approved platform and configuration along with the artwork revision. If the model or firmware baseline changes, the start-up presentation needs to be checked again. See device logo and branding for the physical branding surfaces.

Regional setup

Language, keyboard and software are separate choices.

01

Display language and input

Specify the required operating-system edition, display language and keyboard input method. Also identify the physical keyboard legends and layout you expect. Software input settings do not change the characters printed on a keyboard; review the keyboard language options with the setup brief.

02

Operating-system edition and licence

Confirm the requested edition and licensing arrangement before comparing quotations. An operating-system installation and an activation entitlement are different items. We set out the agreed supply and any additional licensing cost in the quotation.

03

Approved applications and drivers

Provide an application list, version requirements and the legitimate installation source or deployment instructions. We review feasibility and licensing before promising pre-installation. Driver preparation is matched to the actual hardware configuration.

Setup brief

Describe the first-use experience you need.

  • Platform, processor, memory and storage configuration.
  • Destination market and intended users.
  • Quantity, sample requirement and production timeline.
  • Boot-logo artwork and the requested appearance.
  • Operating-system edition and display language.
  • Keyboard input method and physical keyboard requirement.
  • Approved applications and version requirements.
  • First-use checks and any agreed acceptance criteria.

A stock evaluation unit does not automatically include your custom boot image or software package. We confirm a customised sample separately by model and scope, including cost and preparation time. S18D is currently bulk-only and has no evaluation samples.

Review and release

Validate the setup before the batch is released.

01 / SCOPE

Write each requirement

Separate boot artwork, desktop assets, language, licensing and the application list.

02 / REVIEW

Confirm support

We review platform options, feasibility, minimums, licensing and any setup costs.

03 / SAMPLE

Approve the experience

Check the agreed start-up appearance, language, input, drivers and software on the evaluation configuration.

04 / REFERENCE

Record the approved version

The agreed configuration and setup record define the checks for production and repeat orders.

Buyer questions

Boot logo and system setup: eight approval questions.

Can you replace the laptop boot logo with our brand?

Boot-logo support is checked against the selected platform and firmware. Send your artwork and the required start-up appearance so we can confirm feasibility, minimum quantity, validation, cost and timing.

Is a boot logo the same as a Windows wallpaper?

No. Boot branding concerns the start-up sequence, while a wallpaper is an operating-system asset. They are separate setup and approval items, even if both use the same brand artwork.

Can you pre-install software for our project?

We review the requested applications, versions, installation sources and licensing before confirming pre-installation. The supported software set is agreed for the final hardware and operating-system configuration.

Can you change the system language and keyboard language?

We can review display language and input settings for the requested operating-system edition. Physical keyboard layout and printed legends are confirmed separately for the platform and order quantity.

Is Windows activation included in every setup request?

The operating-system edition and licensing arrangement must be confirmed in the quotation. Installation and activation entitlement are separate items, and a requested licence may involve an additional charge.

Can we test the customised setup before a bulk order?

A customized sample is reviewed for the selected model and scope, including feasibility, price, preparation time and acceptance checks. Stock evaluation availability does not automatically include custom boot or software changes. S18D is currently bulk-only and has no evaluation samples; ask about an alternative model if evaluation is essential.

Will a factory reset preserve our boot logo, wallpaper and applications?

Do not assume one recovery action preserves every customized item. Firmware artwork, desktop assets, installed applications and the OS image have separate restoration behaviour. Agree the intended reset or recovery route and verify what it retains on the approved configuration.

Can the same setup image be reused for a different motherboard?

A different motherboard or firmware baseline can change drivers, compatibility and the supported branding procedure. Recheck the image, licences, boot artwork and required devices before release. Record the new approved version rather than assuming a previous setup transfers unchanged.
