Why custom quantity affects cost

Below the standard minimum the fixed work does not shrink with the order. It only spreads across fewer units, which is what makes small custom runs expensive rather than impossible.

• Artwork and packaging setup. Retail packaging, inserts, manuals and device labels are printed, so a small quantity carries the same setup across a fraction of the units.
• Documentation per destination market. Each market needs its own paperwork position, set out on the compliance by market page.
• Production runs. We build in batches, so a custom quantity has to fit into that schedule.
• Configuration stability. A configuration has to be held stable long enough to be worth setting up, which is the subject of the supply continuity page.

For a proposed 200-unit branded order, we review the model, available materials and each requested change. The quantity alone does not establish branding feasibility, a production slot or a price.

If your priority is speed rather than branding, start from what is already in stock and treat wholesale terms as the next step once a model proves itself.

• What is the minimum order quantity for a laptop?

  MOQ depends on the selected model, configuration, materials and branding scope. Selected available standard units may be quoted from one unit for evaluation. Around 100 units for a stocking batch and 1,000 units for a custom programme are planning references, subject to quotation. S18D is bulk-only with no evaluation samples.

• Can I place a branded order below 1,000 units?

  Branding is subject to review of the exact model, quantity, artwork and process. Logo, device labels, packaging, keyboard language and boot artwork can have separate minimums, setup costs and approval steps; none is automatically included in a stocking batch.

• Why is the minimum so high for a custom order?

  Because the fixed work does not shrink with the order. Artwork setup, packaging printing, labelling and market documentation all carry a cost that has to spread across the units produced.

• How long does a custom order take once I commit?

  Sample preparation and production schedules are confirmed in the quotation after specification, artwork and component availability review. We work with existing platforms; custom enclosure or mainboard tooling is not offered.

• Do you hold stock I can buy quickly?

  Selected available China-stock configurations typically dispatch in 2-3 business days after stock, payment and order details are confirmed. Custom preparation and production schedules are quoted separately. Overseas stock, delivery coverage, transit and customs clearance depend on the model, route and delivery address; dispatch is not an arrival guarantee.

• Can I start small and increase the quantity later?

  Yes, and that is the usual pattern. What matters for repeat orders is configuration stability, which is handled through the supply continuity arrangements rather than left to chance.

• Do you charge for samples?

  Available evaluation units are quoted for the exact model and configuration, with preparation, freight and any sample-credit terms stated separately. S18D has no evaluation samples.
